Versatile heat exchangers: Well-suited to the wine industry

Dimpleflo heat exchangers are used extensively in the wine industry in New Zealand and Australia for must chilling, cold stabilisation, fermentation control, pasteurisation, and other heat transfer applications.

The distinct Dimpleflo design combines a self-draining, compact configuration with an extremely high heat transfer co-efficient and surface to volume ratios, in an overall package that has proven to be virtually maintenance free.

The Dimpleflo modular and Modubloc designs use a unique bolt-together system to join tubes, enabling versatility by adding or re-configuring the heat exchanger to meet any changed or increased applications in the future.

The units are available with a mobile base, enabling the unit to be moved around a winery with ease. The modular designs also allow the formation of continuous jacketed lines for processing products while in transit.

The Dimpleflo heat exchangers are suitable for a wide range of duties with some units capable of processing product at volumes of over 100 tonnes per hour (with up to 85 per cent solids) and can sustain operating pressures of over 580 psi/40 Bar.

Constructed from most grades of stainless steel, the heat exchangers provide hygienic, efficient heat transfer of fluids and slurries in a compact design.

Aurora Agencies also offer a range of plate heat exchangers which are known for efficient thermal performance and versatility.

Energy efficient
Mixquip side-entry and transferable mixers are available which are specifically designed for the wine industry.
Each agitator includes a Mixquip Superflo impeller that has a unique, cast parabolic blade design for efficient product movement, using less energy and producing greater axial flow than traditional fabricated designs. With only three specially curved leading edges, the unit provides excellent low shear agitation.

Avoiding damage
Magnattack grape receival bin magnets are an essential item for a winery to protect de-stemmers, crushers, presses and pumps from a variety of contaminants such as staples, nails, wire and wear particles from the harvesters. These contaminants will cause not only costly damage to the equipment but could also lead to a loss of product, and subsequent down-time and loss of production.
