Here come the label connoisseurs

Self-adhesive label printers, Philstic Labels, are already well renowned for quality, innovation and reliability, but arguably, one thing sets them apart from the competition, their unflagging passion for perfect labels.

“Our success is no accident”, says Phil Fewings, managing director.
“For over 30 years we have consistently delivered quality and service along with innovative print solutions.

”To do this effectively we invest in knowing our customer’s business, understanding their requirements, and developing solutions that work for each product and the environments they will be subjected to.”

Traditionally specialising in multiple webbed coupon-styled leaflet labels for the dairy, animal health and agriculture markets, Philstic stands as a manufacturer in the global economy with more than 60 per cent of its printed product being exported to countries such as Australia, China, UK, the Middle East and South America.

Already onboard with Philstic are such household names as Bayer, BASF, Dow Chemicals, Fonterra, Genfarm, Monsanto, and Nufarm, to name a few.

It’s most likely that wine-growers in New Zealand will already have products on their vineyards that carry a Philstic label.

“Good designs with visual impact are a mandatory requirement for any label, but beyond that is the attention to the label’s material attributes,” says Craig Low, director of operations for Philstic.

“What is needed to allow the label to perform, for example in a chiller; that is crucially important.”

Having recently moved to purpose-built premises, Philstic is now positioned for growth and intends extending its outstanding service to the wine industry.

“We identify with the passion that permeates through every step of the wine-making process and we view the wine label as the final component to a great bottle of wine.

To that end, it’s what we contribute that makes the difference. In a word, passion,” says Phil Fewings.
